A burglar alarm system consists basicly of two components:
Burglar Alarm Central Unit
The burglar alarm central unit supervises via the connected detectors ( door contacts, window contacts, glas breakage detectors, motion detectors, etc ) the protected area when no persons are present. The try of a burglary is local notified by optical and acoustical signal generators ( siren, flashing light ). Additionally a security service is informed via telephone.
Arming Device
The activation an deactivaton of the burglar alarm is done by using the arming device. The simplest device is a key switch with additional functions. This device is called block lock within the burglar alarm technique. The block lock can only be turned by a matching key when the burglar alarm central unit is ready for switching on. That means that all doors are closed and locked and all windows are closed.
Modern arming devices from Sesam work with electronical keys and offer higher comfort and additional features like inividual-related event reports or complex access control functions.
